J.D.

J.D. is for Joyful Discernment! Supporting Peace Within Joyful Discernment is traditionally called Spiritual Companionship or Spiritual Direction. Together, we have a confidential series of gentle, one-to-one conversations about your life, your questions, and your dreams. You may have deep spiritual connections within an established church or other faith. Or you might have a robustly secular philosophy of life. I welcome both perspectives or something in between. Another way to engage in spiritual companionship is a small group process based on the Spiritual Literacy Alphabet. If this intrigues you, please call me. If you are curious, the first step is a brief phone call and then a 20-minute Zoom session to see if we might be a good fit to work together. I will ask you about your questions; you may ask me questions, too. I am happy to answer questions about my training and experience. I first offered Spiritual Companionship in the mid-1990s, after completing a 2-year training course in Oregon. My mediation clients occasionally experience a longing to engage in spiritual reflection after their divorce is over. I welcome your inquiries, but please know that I cannot ethically offer Spiritual Companionship to you and serve as your mediator at the same time. For Joyful Discernment in an individual or group setting, the best way to contact me is to call or text to (626) 441-1900.
